It’s official: Apple’s WWDC 2024 is a go for June. Now that the company has officially announced when its next Worldwide Developer Conference will kick off, we now know when we’ll get our first look at major new software announcements from Cupertino, including iOS 18, macOS 15, and watchOS 11.

When is WWDC 2024?

Per Apple’s Tuesday announcement, WWDC 2024 (or WWDC24, as Apple is stylizing it) is scheduled for June 10–June 14. It’s at this event where Apple will reveal all of its upcoming software updates, from iOS 18, to macOS 15, to watchOS 11, as well as new update for tvOS and visionOS.

“Wait,” you may be asking yourself, “WWDC is five days long? Isn’t it just a two-hour presentation?” Au contraire! WWDC is actually a week-long conference for Apple developers and students where they can meet-up and learn from one another. What most of us think of as WWDC—the presentation of new software—is really just the kickoff; that presentation will take place on June 10.

What will Apple announce at WWDC 2024?

This should be an exciting year for Apple announcements. The company is widely expected to drop some big AI news—and that’s pretty major, considering they are one of the biggest players in tech not all-in on artificial intelligence right now. Rumors suggest the company will debut new AI features in iOS 18. Apple’s senior vice president of marketing added “Absolutely Incredible” to his post about the event in a not-so-subtle nod to WWDC’s presumed theme. (Absolutely Incredible.) We’re also expecting iOS 18 to offer more control over app icon placement on the Home Screen.

Apple will also likely put a focus on Vision Pro, it’s big foray into mixed reality. While the tech world hyped up the Vision Pro upon its launch, news about the headset has died down considerably. Apple will probably want to do something to keep the conversation going, whether that means introducing new features as part of a major visionOS update, showing off new third-party apps in development, or simply making a case for why people should care about mixed reality in 2024.

How to watch WWDC 2024

Apple hasn’t announced how it will broadcast WWDC24 at this time, but it’s safe to say you’ll be able to watch it from at least Apple’s website, as well as the company’s YouTube channel. The event usually starts at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m ET), but we’ll know more as we get closer to the conference date.
