Verizon sure knows how to get your attention. Every MAR10 Day (March 10), Nintendo celebrates the Mario franchise with special deals and promotions, and this year Verizon decided to jump on the bandwagon by offering customers who sign up for their Home Plus internet plan a free Nintendo Switch. Plus, you’ll get a $200 Target e-gift card or a Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Go. It’s a pretty sweet promotion, but not everyone will qualify, and there are some caveats to keep in mind.

The most important thing to note is that not every home can even access Verizon Home Plus Internet. You can check if the service is available at your address by plugging it into Verizon’s search bar. To receive the promotion, you will need to have the option to sign up for 5G Home Plus or LTE Home Plus. The 5G Home Plus internet plan costs $80 per month ($70 with autopay), or $45 if you’re an existing Verizon mobile customer. The LTE Home Plus is the same price but doesn’t offer the same top speeds as 5G Home Plus. The speed and plan you’re able to receive will vary by address.

How to get a free Nintendo Switch from Verizon

To be eligible for the Nintendo Switch, you must be a new Verizon home internet customer. If your are locked into a contract with your current internet provider, Verizon will cover you with up to $500 of early cancellation fees. The Nintendo Switch deal is available all of March, or until Verizon runs out of Nintendo Switches.

You will need to activate and maintain the internet plan for 65 days, at which point you will have 60 days to redeem the Nintendo Switch (or no later than August 31, 2024, whichever comes first). At that point, you will you will have to hold on to the plan for 180 days before you can cancel without Verizon charging you $299.99 for the game system.

You’ll also get $200 to spend at Target, or a laptop

The icing on the cake for this deal is that you’ll also get your choice of either a $200 Target e-gift card or a Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Go. Both of these promotions last a bit longer than the Nintendo Switch offer, with an expiration date of April 10.

If you’re interested in the $200 Target e-gift card, you’ll have to follow the same rules as the Switch, but you have until Sept. 10 to claim your prize. It will be emailed within 48 hours of your Verizon registration. The rules are the same if you’re choosing the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Go, but that freebie also gives you the option of choosing Fios 1 Gig or Fios 2 Gig internet service (though if you choose Fios, you won’t get the free Nintendo).
