There’s plenty to disagree about when it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe—I’m a Thor and Doctor Strange apologist myself—but until recently, it seemed like all of fandom could heartily agree on one thing: Hawkeye sucks, and is definitely the worst Avenger. But then Disney had to go and ruin it with the trailer for Hawkeye, the next Disney+ MCU spinoff, the first episode of which drops on Nov. 24.

Yes, Earth’s mopiest hero (Jeremy Renner, of the Jeremy Renner App fame) appears to have developed a sense of humor and actual chemistry with his new arrow-slinging protege, played with what looks to be irresistible fangirl charm by Oscar-nominee Hailee Steinfeld.

If you aren’t a comic reader (or if the title font didn’t clue you in), the series appears to be leaning heavily on Matt Fraction and David Aja’s acclaimed run, which delved into the humdrum day-to-day life of a superhero sans superpowers. If the show can be half as satisfying (and surprisingly emotional), it’ll be an all-timer.

Otherwise, Disney has a big month planned for its streaming service and will celebrate “Disney Plus Day” on Nov. 12 by dropping a bunch of animated shorts (both new and old) onto the service alongside a new Olaf-centric series, a documentary about the legacy of Star Wars’ Boba Fett (which will serve as handy marketing for December’s launch of The Book of Boba Fett, I’m sure), and the free streaming premiere of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Disney also wants to give you something meaty to digest over Thanksgiving weekend, and is dropping all three parts of Peter Jackson’s (yes, The Lord of the Rings’ Peter Jackson) docu-series about the recording of The Beatles’ Get Back—their final and, here we can probably all agree, worst album—over three nights. Just when you thought there was nothing more to be said about the biggest band of all time, Jackson arrives with yet another three-part epic, and to remind you that, for a little while longer at least, Boomers still hold the purse strings in Hollywood.
