While the actor’s fantastic stunts are anything but new, Tom Cruise does not fail to impress fans with how far he can push the envelope. The video, shot on the sets of the upcoming Mission: Impossible films, is dedicated to fans who thronged the theatres to watch his last film Top Gun: Maverick. In the clip, Tom Cruise while hanging off a plane can be heard yelling, “Hey everyone, here we are over stunning South Africa, and we’re filming Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning parts one and two. I didn’t want the year to end without thanking you all for coming out to the theatres, and thank you for supporting Top Gun: Maverick,” barely audible over the whirring sound of the aircraft whirring.The camera then moves to show director Christopher McQuarrie, who is helming, writing and co-producing the upcoming Mission Impossible films. After thanking fans for their support, MC Quarrie says, “Hey, listen, we really have got to roll. We’ve got to get this shot.”Following this, Tom Cruise adds, “As always, thank you for allowing us to entertain you. It truly is the honour of a lifetime. I’m running out of altitude, so I’ve got to get back to work. We’ve got to get this shot. You have a very safe and happy holiday. We’ll see you at the movies,” before finishing his stunt.Fans have replied to the post praising him. One fan said, “Tom Cruise saving the whole movie industry while risking his own life to entertain. Rest of the movie world, take a note!” Another fan commented, “This man just jumped out of a helicopter while talking into a camera like he was reclining in a lazy boy on a Sunday afternoon.”“Give the man the Oscar finally. He deserves it,” one fan gushed. “That guy has not wasted his lifetime while he was here,” another pointed out.Meanwhile, Top Gun: Maverick, starring Tom Cruise, will start streaming in India on Prime Video from December 26. It will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam on the platform. The film is the sequel to Tom Cruise’s 1986 hit Top Gun.
