Google is currently offering discounts on some of its best products, like its Google Pixel 7 Pro and 7a. Its Pixel smartwatches are also currently at their lowest prices after checking price comparison tools, with the original Google Pixel Watch at $199.99 (originally $349.99) after a 43% discount and the latest Google Pixel Watch 2 at $299.99 (originally $349.99) after a $50 discount. The Google Pixel Watch 2 LTE, which doesn’t rely on wifi connectivity, also has a $50 discount.

Both models strike a good balance between smartwatch and sports watch. They feel like a mini-smartphone on your wrist and do a good job as a health tracker, especially since the acquisition of Fitbit. If you’re unsure which one is right for you, you can review their key differences here.

The original Google Pixel Watch

The wifi-only model works best when your phone and the watch are on the same wifi network. If they are, you’ll be able to take calls or play music from your phone using your watch. Here is a quick overview of a few more of its features:

Google’s first smartwatch came two years after they acquired Fitbit, and it came in the form of the Google Pixel Watch in 2022. The smartwatch comes in one size, 41mm, in a variety of colors, and in your choice of LTE or wifi. The main difference is that the LTE model comes with an eSIM that connects to your mobile provider, allowing you to make and receive calls independently of your phone. Google’s first smartwatch comes with 32GB of storage, has a microphone, a speaker, and many fitness tracking features powered by Fitbit. This watch comes with a single physical button, the ability to keep the screen always on, customizable watch faces, interchangeable strap bands, 5ATM water protection, and Bluetooth connectivity. You can expect up to 24 hours of battery time after a full one-hour and 20-minute charge time. It has a “find my phone feature” if you misplace your cellphone, and it has voice compatibility with Google Assistant.

This first-generation Pixel Watch still gets the latest updates and can get Wear OS 4.

The Google Pixel Watch 2

The discount on the Google Pixel Watch 2 isn’t as significant as the original Pixel’s. The Pixel Watch 2 came out more recently, in October 2023, upgrading some aspects of the first generation Pixel. The battery life lasts longer (a whole day with the display on the entire time), and there are some improvements in the fitness tracking as well, with better Fitbit integration. You can read our review here and see if the extra money for the latest version is worth it for you. If fitness tracking is your main goal, the upgrade to the Pixel Watch 2 might be worth it. Otherwise, the first-generation Pixel Watch is still a great smartwatch, especially for its price.
