Fire tablets have come a long way from their humble beginnings. They started as average, cheap tablets but have evolved to be serious contenders for people wanting a more budget-friendly tablet option. Right now, the Amazon Fire Max 11 tablet is at its best price ever, according to my favorite price-checking tools. You can get it for $139.99 (originally $229) after a 39% discount from Woot until Sunday, Feb. 3. If you have Amazon Prime, you get free shipping; otherwise, it’ll be $6 to ship. (Heads up, though: Woot only ships to the 48 contiguous states in the U.S.).

This 13th-generation Fire tablet was released last summer and is Amazon’s biggest Fire Tablet, sporting an 11-inch screen. At its current price, it’s even cheaper than the used ones available on Amazon right now. The model on sale at Woot is the gray, 64GB, with ads version. You can also get the stylus pen ($34.99) and the keyboard ($89.99) and it’ll still be cheaper than Amazon’s current bundle deal with those items.

The Fire Max 11 has an “excellent” review from PCMag for the quality of its screen, upgrades in design, good performance, and access to the Amazon ecosystem. It did get dinged for its lack of app selection (it is an Amazon product, after all) and because Amazon doesn’t say whether it will get any system upgrades (aside from at least four security updates).

If you’re OK with using the Amazon Appstore to get most of your content, the FireOS system might not be a problem for you. If you want apps from the Google Store, you’ll have to get them sideloaded via a microSD card, which might not be for everyone.

Other than that, you’re getting a 2,000 by 1,200 pixel resolution tablet with up to 14 hours of playtime, 4 GB of RAM, and an 8 MP front and rear camera for a good price. There are no other tablets of this quality that can match its current price of $139.99.
