Anne Marie Conlon’s article (Nature 629, 957–959; 2024) on scientists of faith provides an excellent introduction to a complex and diverse aspect of the daily lives of many scientists. In 2006, we co-founded The Faraday Institute for Science and Religion in Cambridge, UK, mainly as a research enterprise, but also as a place to equip scientists with the educational tools necessary to engage effectively with religious environments. We aim to promote mainstream science in religious communities, helping to counteract anti-science trends such as creationism and global-warming denial. Other non-profit organizations in various countries have similar aims.
