It’s a fabric made using a weaving technique where warp or weft threads, or both, are tie-dyed before weaving. Ikat has come of age and the blurry textile is the big thing in fashion world, with fashionistas and Bollywood stars endorsing it alike. The latest star to join the Ikat bandwagon is southern sensation, Samantha Akkineni, South Indian cinema’s favourite star these days.

The actress is spending all her quarantine time tending to plants and playing with her pets, and she recently gave us a glimpse of her green home, but it was her pretty kurta-dress that caught our eyes.

Samantha was spotted wearing an Ikat printed kurta-dress. The actress flaunted a floral print hand micro-pleated kurta by Saaksha & Kinni.

The multicoloured cotton silk kurta featured organza sleeves and sides.

The ‘Made in India’ kurta comes with a matching inner and costs INR 16,000 approximately. And, in case you want to endorse locally produced clothes and want to support Indian artisans, this Indian kurta could be your best bet.

We loved Samantha’s Indian kurta-dress, tell us how did you like it in the comment section below.
