If you’re a college student, two things are likely to be true: You probably love consuming streaming media, and you’re probably broke. But if you need to cut back your entertainment budget, there might be a way to do it without canceling one of your streaming subscriptions.
The best streaming discounts for students

A handful of major services offer discounts to college students, and all you need to get them is to verify your status using your .edu email address.
Peacock student discount
Peacock recently announced a student discount where you pay $1.99 per month instead of its usual $5.99. The deal is good for 12 months, and you will need to verify your student status. You can cancel at any time. You can stream Peacock on three devices at the same time and have up to six profiles. Peacock streams Yellowstone, Cocaine Bear, and many sports, including the English Premier League, MLB Sunday Leadoff, Sunday Night Football, NASCAR, golf, Olympic sports, and others.
Spotify Premium and Hulu student discount
You can get Spotify Premium and Hulu (with ads) at a discounted rate of $5.99 per month if you sign up for their student discount (Spotify Premium is usually $10.99 and Hulu $7.99 per month). To be eligible, you must be a student at a Title IV accredited institution in the US. If you already have Hulu, you can still switch over to this plan.
Hulu student discount
If you’re not interested in Spotify, you can get Hulu by itself. Normally $7.99 per month for the ad-supported plan, you can get a subscription for Hulu for just $1.99 per month if you sign up for their student discount. Unfortunately, there is no student discount available for a premium Hulu subscription.
Paramount+ student discount
Normally $5.99 per month, a subscription to Paramount+ costs $4.50 if you sign up for their student service. Once your student status has been verified, you’ll be able to watch on up to three devices at the same time, download shows and watch movies offline. Note that this discount is for their Essential plan (with commercials) and does not include your local live CBS station, but it does still include NFL on CBS and EUFA Champions League games.
YouTube Premium student discount
Normally $13.99 per month, a subscription to YouTube Premium is free for the first month and then $7.99 per month if you sign up with their student discount. Included in the plan are the ability to watch unlimited videos uninterrupted by ads, download videos to your phone/laptop, and get an ad-free subscription to YouTube Music. You’ll be eligible for this price for up to four years; you’ll be required to re-verify your eligibility every year.
YouTube is also offering an NFL Sunday Ticket student discount for the 2023 NFL season starting on Sept. 7, 2023. Once the plan is live (you’ll need to find the “Eligible students can save with a student plan” option), students can get the NFL Sunday Ticket for $109 (normally $399) for the whole season and an option to add the NFL RedZone for $40 more (normally $439 with the NFL Sunday Ticket).
Amazon Prime student discount
You can get Amazon Prime Student for free for a three-month trial and then $8.99 per year. This deal is only for new members. You’ll get access to Prime Delivery, Prime Video, Amazon Music, Prime Reading, and other features.
