As the nation prepares for the third phase of ‘Unlock Plan’ from 1 August 2020, there may be a piece of good news for cinema lovers across the country. Yes, speculations are doing rounds that the government of India is considering to open movie theatres for the general public albeit with strict restrictions in its Unlock 3.0 plan. After staying out of function for a period of three months, cinema halls are ready to welcome movie-lovers once again to enjoy their favourite movies on the big screen.

To ensure that social distancing norms are strictly enforced, the Multiplex Association of India (MAI) has issued a set of new guidelines to be followed by all the movie theatres across India. These precautionary plans will ensure the safety of the moviegoers and help in containing the spread of the novel coronavirus. While we are waiting for the final approval from the centre on the reopening of movie halls, here are 8 precautionary measures which will be taken when and if the cinema halls reopen:
