Food delivery platforms have definitely revolutionised the way we order our food. Now you don’t need to step outside your house to satiate your midnight cravings and can relish literally anything sitting on your sofa. All that you require is a phone and a food delivery application to get some lip-smacking butter chicken or delectable gulab jamun home delivered. Food delivery executives play a crucial role in full filling the daily orders from every corner of the city. To ensure the well-being of the staff, Zomato has recently set up public resting points where delivery persons can take a break from their exhausting routine and use amenities like the internet, washroom, and phone-charging stations. The resting points have been built as part of Zomato’s “The Shelter Project” and will be available to delivery partners of various companies, Zomato’s Chief Executive Officer Deepinder Goyal announced in a tweet. The CEO also shared a picture where Zomato and Swiggy delivery persons can be seen sitting, eating, and taking rest on chairs at one of the rest points. “Announcing ‘The Shelter Project’ – we’ve started building public infrastructure (Rest Points) to support the well-being of delivery partners of various companies,” the tweet reads.
