If you’re after a speaker that can handle poolside splashes or a day out on the boat, the Soundcore Boom 2 with its IPX7 rating might be worth a look, especially with a price drop to $99.99 from $129.99. It’s got some serious thump and LED lights that sync to the beat—and it floats, so if it accidentally takes a dip in the pool, you’re still good (Bluetooth won’t work underwater, though).

The Boom 2 delivers an 80W punch with two 15W tweeters and a 50W woofer, but according to a PCMag review, disabling its Bass Up mode drops the output to 60W, so it’s not quite as powerful without the extra bass boost. It’s also worth noting that you only get Bluetooth connectivity—no wifi—but you can pair it with another Boom 2 speaker for stereo sound. Also, its plastic exterior might feel a bit basic compared to other speakers like the JBL Flip 6 (priced at $129.95), which has a nicer finish.

Like most portable speakers, it’s not immune to faster battery drain if you’re cranking the volume or keeping those LEDs flashing—and while it takes about 5.5 hours to charge fully, Anker says you can get up to 24 hours of playback at moderate volume with everything turned off. You can customize your sound and light settings, adjust and modify brightness, and more via its companion app on your phone.

A similar option is the Sony SRS-XB23, currently priced at $89.95, down from $129.99.
