As you age out of being able to dress up and go knocking on strangers’ doors for free candy, the next best thing is the day after Halloween when CVS sells leftover candy bars for 75% off. The good news is that it’s not just discounted leftover chocolate you can get this year, but a free kick-ass survival horror-adventure game for your computer, too. Saturnalia is a computer game that derives its name from the ancient Roman pagan festival that honors the god Saturn—and until Nov. 3, at 11 a.m. ET, you can get Saturnalia for free through the Epic Games website.

You will need to create an Epic Games account (it’s free), and “check out” the game. Once you do, you will be asked to download the Epic Games Launcher to play it. If you’re not prompted to the download link, you can click the top right blue “download” button and follow the instructions to get the game. Once you download it, the game should show up in “purchase history” on your Epic Games account, and you should receive a confirmation email soon after.
Is Saturnalia for me?
If you like indie adventure games filled with puzzles, cultural traditions, and being stalked by horrible creatures in a tiny, cramped town, you will love Saturnalia. The game plays like a more artistic-looking Resident Evil with an ‘80s pop-rock European soundtrack and less like a jumpy “got-ya” horror game. The story plot is dense with great character storylines, and aesthetically, the game is beautiful—but if you’re not easily scared, the game might not give you the high you’re craving. Saturnalia has an 80 out of 100 rating from Metacritic and has had positive reviews like this one from Forbes. But for free, this is a great deal for any adventure-game lover.
