Balance is the key
If you’re wearing a dress or a gown for an evening party, Leshna Shah of Irasva suggests matching the right kind of earrings with your dress to accentuate the look.
For a gown, she suggests picking minimalistic yet statement-making studs. “Go for unique and intricate designs, that doesn’t overshadow your overall look,” she explains.
Go big on bling
Diamonds can add the right amount of sparkle to any outfit and colour. Pooja Uppal Mehra, Founder and Creative Director of Kasmia Fine Jewellery feels diamonds can be the ultimate choice for western as well as traditional ensembles.
“The versatility of diamonds is incomparable. They pair exquisitely with a range of outfits. For an evening gown, you can opt for an intricately handcrafted diamond necklace and earring set that will perfectly frame your face.” says Pooja.
“With a more traditional ensemble, there’s nothing like a traditional polki set. It exudes royalty and old-world charm, which will always make a statement like no other,” she suggests.
Federica Imperiali, Head of New Product Development, Forevermark suggests experimenting with different shapes and styles. “While classic styles like a tennis-line bracelet or a pair of studs in the ear are a go-to accessory for an evening look, one can also choose different shapes of diamonds like the pear-shape or a marquise in experimental designs to stand out from the crowd.”
Add a pop of colour
Give your evening ensemble a touch of colour with statement pieces. Jewellery Designer Sangeeta Boochra suggests picking colourful stones like an emerald green necklace or earrings. “Try a variety of different shades to discover what suits you and will bring out the best in you,” says Sangeeta.
She also suggests accessorising evening looks with cocktail rings with colourful and big gemstones. “Colourful gems like aquamarine, tourmaline and emeralds are a must-wear for evening outfits like gowns and dresses, she further explains.
Don’t over-accessorise!
Bold accessories can help to elevate the look but wearing too much jewellery can be a major faux pas. While picking statement pieces of jewellery, make sure you don’t over accessorise. It’s okay to pick bold accessories, but wearing them all together can look too noisy!
“For evening wear you can go for some big chunky pieces as they can completely change and elevate your whole look. It can just be a big bold necklace or pair of statement earrings. You can even add a stack of bangles or a statement cuff to complete your look,” says Akanksha Arora, CEO Tribe Amrapali.
