Do you feel something a little sinister in the air? It’s not just the looming specter of All Hallow’s Eve: it’s Evil Week.
Longtime Lifehacker readers will no doubt recall that every year during the final week of October, we flip over our moral compasses and entertain the sort of hacks we otherwise would consider ourselves too high-minded to write about. We’re talking slightly shady methods for scoring a free drink, or unscrupulous ways to annoy your friends. We’re not talking about breaking the law—we would never! But maybe, arguably, bending your own moral code slightly out of shape.
After several years’ hiatus, Evil Week is back with a vengeance in 2023. All this week—from Oct. 30 to Nov. 3—we’ll be resurfacing some of our favorite devious hacks from the past and sharing the latest in below-the-belt life advice.
None of these tips and tricks—emphasis on the latter there—will get anyone hurt or arrested, but they might get people slightly pissed off at you (provided you get caught). They might also make you feel extremely sneaky and/or pleased with yourself. That’s all part of the fun, and the danger, of acting a little evil.
(And if you’ve got your own personal evil hacks to share, feel free to do so in the comments. We’d certainly never steal them from you! You can trust us. I swear.)
