The price of the Apple Watch Series 9 just dropped on Amazon and Best Buy—$329 (originally $399) for the 41mm model and $359 (originally $429) for the 45mm model. If you’re a My Best Buy Plus or My Best Buy Total member, you can get an additional $20 off the total, bringing it down to the lowest price I have ever seen it. The last time the price was this low was over Black Friday and Christmas.

The Apple Watch Series 9 is Apple’s second-most expensive watch after the Apple Watch Ultra 2, both released in 2023. However, both the Series 9 and Ultra 2 have been caught in hot water after a legal battle over the patent of the blood oxygen level feature, leading to them being briefly pulled off the shelves. Now, Apple is getting rid of the feature in hopes of avoiding the sell ban. How useful the blood oxygen level feature was, to begin with, is questionable at best, according to Beth Skwarecki, Lifehacker’s senior health editor. If you want an Apple Watch with this feature regardless, you better get one now while you still can. (Don’t worry, it shouldn’t be taken off with an update down the road.)

It’s important to note that the Series 9 models on sale are the GPS-only versions (as opposed to GPS + cellular), meaning you’ll need to have your iPhone nearby to take calls or send messages. The aluminum is cheaper than the stainless steel model, and the 41mm screen is for those who prefer a smaller screen compared to the 45mm one. The small/medium size is for wrists measuring 130 to 180 mm.

You can do a lot with the Series 9, like tracking your sleep and the much anticipated “double tap” feature, which lets you answer calls, control music playback, reply to messages, etc., simply by tapping your thumb and index finger twice. You can check out all the watchOS features here and read a full review of the Series 9 over at PCMag.
