Mumbai: Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Sanjay Raut has been charged with defamation, days after he alleged threat to life from Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s son.The case against the Rajya Sabha MP was registered after former Thane mayor Meenakshi Shinde lodged a complaint claiming that the allegations against Lok Sabha MP Shrikant Shinde were false.Mr Raut has been charged under relevant sections in the Indian Penal Code pertaining to defamation, false charges, promoting enmity, insulting for breach of peace, and for statements for public mischief.Earlier this week, Mr Raut complained to the police that Shrikant Shinde had given a contract to Thane-based Raja Thakur to kill him.Featured Video Of The DayRam Charan, In New York, Clicks Selfie With Fans
