The king Khan of Bollywood is known for the roles of romantic heroes he plays on the screen. We can never forget how he immortalised the characters of ‘Rahul’ and ‘Raj’ in movies like ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hain’, ‘Dil Toh Pagal Hain’, ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’ and many other movies. During the promotion of one of his movies, the veteran actor spoke of his daughter Suhana’s theater work, especially her portrayal of the role of Juliet in Shakespeare’s famous play ‘Romeo and Juliet’ in Sussex. The actor is very proud of his daughter’s work but at the same time, he is also a very protective father. Although he has played to perfection the many roles of Rahul in different movies, he would, however, warn Suhana against dating any guy named Rahul in real life.
And Shah Rukh has a good reason to ask his daughter to stay away from characters like Rahul, which according to him, is a stalker in most of the movies Shah Rukh was a part of. Another very important dating advice that the megastar had for his daughter was that she should stay away from men who try to get too close to her in parties. And we quite agree with Shah Rukh on his dating advice—a stalker and creep is someone every girl should stay away from, right?
If you ask our opinion, the many roles of Rahul and Raj that Shah Rukh had played to perfection on screen, aren’t role models. We can never forget Rahul from the movie ‘Darr’ which catapulted Shah Rukh to fame. Even today when we hear the iconic dialogue, “I love you K-k-k-kiran’ we can feel a shiver run down our spine. Rahul was an obsessed lover who made the life of the girl he loved (played by Juhi Chawla) a living hell. Life turned into a nightmare for her because of the stalker Rahul. We can clearly understand why Shah Rukh wants his daughter Suhana to stay away from boys like Rahul.
Another character with the same name Rahul from the movie ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hain’ isn’t an ideal man to fall in love with. The story surrounding the love triangle of Anjali-Rahul-Tina became a blockbuster hit in the 90’s almost redefining friendship between the two genders. But we can clearly see how Anjali was ‘friendzoned’ by Rahul, almost giving her mixed signals. The poor girl believed that he was in love with her and her heart was broken when she found out the truth about Tina and Rahul. She left college and cut off all ties with her friends. This not how a father would want his daughter to end up as, right?
