In Mumbai, petrol is retailed at Rs 109.98 per litre while diesel is being sold at Rs 94.14 per litre.Despite the reduction in prices, petrol and diesel rates are still above the Rs 100 per litre mark across the country, while among the four metros, they are the costliest in Mumbai. Any changes in petrol and diesel prices are implemented with effect from 6 am every day.Globally, oil prices rose on Wednesday, extending gains in the previous session, after industry data showed US crude stocks unexpectedly fell last week just as near term travel demand picked up with the easing of pandemic curbs. U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures rose 23 cents, or 0.3 per cent, to $84.38 a barrel, adding to a 2.7 per cent gain on Tuesday. Brent crude futures jumped 36 cents, or 0.4 per cent, to $85.14 a barrel, after rising 1.6 per cent on Tuesday.
