Petrol and Diesel Price: Fuel rates were steady across metro cities todayPetrol, Diesel Price Today: Petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged for the seventh consecutive day on Wednesday, November 10, days after the government slashed excise duty on petrol and diesel to bring rates slightly down from the record high levels.In the national capital, petrol is being sold for Rs 103.97, while diesel rate is Rs 86.67, according to Indian Oil Corporation. In Mumbai, petrol is retailed at Rs 109.98 per litre while diesel is being sold at Rs 94.14 per litre.Despite the reduction in prices, petrol and diesel rates are still above the Rs 100 per litre mark across the country, while among the four metros, they are the costliest in Mumbai. The move to cut excise duty on fuel prices may cost the government Rs 1.4 lakh crore annually. Any changes in petrol and diesel prices are implemented with effect from 6 am every day.Globally, oil prices rose on Wednesday, extending gains in the previous session, after industry data showed US crude stocks unexpectedly fell last week just as near term travel demand picked up with the easing of pandemic curbs. U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures rose 23 cents, or 0.3 per cent, to $84.38 a barrel, adding to a 2.7 per cent gain on Tuesday. Brent crude futures jumped 36 cents, or 0.4 per cent, to $85.14 a barrel, after rising 1.6 per cent on Tuesday.
