Petrol and Diesel Prices: Fuel rates were steady across metro cities todayPetrol, Diesel Prices Today: Petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. Earlier, the Delhi government had reduced the value-added tax on petrol from 30 per cent to 19.40 per cent. As a result, petrol prices in the national capital were slashed by Rs 8.56 per litre. A litre of petrol now costs Rs 95.41 in Delhi, while diesel rates — which were kept unchanged — stood at Rs 86.67 per litre.In Mumbai, petrol is retailed at Rs 109.98 per litre, while diesel is being sold at Rs 94.14 per litre. Any changes in petrol and diesel prices are implemented with effect from 6 am every day.Globally, oil prices edged higher on Tuesday, though investors remained worried about the rapid spread of the Omicron coronavirus variant globally, prompting countries to consider more restrictions potentially denting fuel demand.Brent crude futures increased by nine cents, or 0.1 per cent, to $71.61 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures rose by 23 cents, or 0.3 per cent, to $68.84 a barrel.
