Kareena Kapoor Khan and Samantha Akkineni almost wore the same hand-painted sari: Who wore it better?

With not many celebrities venturing out due to the pandemic, we are spending our time checking out their old looks that made the maximum noise. And, one of our all-time favourite ‘who wore it better’ moments was when Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor Khan and South Indian sensation Samantha Akkineni wore the same sari.

There was a lot of buzz around a sari that Kareena wore last year. The powder blue sari was custom made for the actress by Jaipur based label Picchika by Urvashi Sethi and it showcased hand-painted golden flowers, green/brown leaves and a beautiful pink bird. Interestingly, the sari became so popular because it featured Kareena’s nickname ‘Bebo’ hand-painted in pink.

Samantha, on the other hand wore it after Kareena at the success bash of one of her movies. There were two aspects of Samantha’s sari that made it different from the one Bebo wore. It was powder pink, instead of powder blue and it featured the word Jaanu (Samantha’s screen-name in hit film, Jaanu) instead of Bebo.

While Bebo sported an unseen tube style blouse with the sari, Samantha flaunted a halter-neck blouse with the sari.
