(Representational)Azamgarh (UP): A woman died by suicide in Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh today after alleged police inaction in a rape complaint she made, officials said.Superintendent of Police, Azamgarh, Sudhir Kumar Singh said the woman’s husband has alleged that she was sexually assaulted recently and had identified one Anil from the same village as one of the accused, but police failed to take action.”In-charge of the police station has been suspended for negligence,” he said.The woman’s family has alleged that they appealed to the police many times for justice, but in vain.The woman reached the police station on Saturday and later consumed poison. She was rushed to a hospital where she was declared dead, the Superintendent of Police said.The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, he said.
