Before Halo Infinite’s story mode goes public, Microsoft is inviting users into the multiplayer mode in the open beta, which has been running on Steam since Nov. 15. Halo Infinite starts you off with 17 multiplayer modes by default, but if you launch the game with Steam set in offline mode, you end up with 14 more hidden modes.
These modes were discovered by Redditor WickedSoldier991. While they are available in offline mode, you can save them to your game file and access them when you launch Halo Infinite in online mode.
Here’s the kicker: These aren’t just variations of current maps. There’s an entire new game mode called Attrition where each team has a limited pool of respawns, and you can win by draining them. Elimination, a variation of the Attrition mode, has CS style no-respawning across multiple rounds. There’s Tactical Slayer, which is Halo Infinite’s version of SWAT, with no shields or radar.
The company hasn’t officially announced these modes yet, so we don’t know how long they’ll be accessible using this hidden trick. We suggest you save them to your local storage as quickly as possible, before Microsoft decides to remove them.
Here’s a list of all the hidden modes.
- Arena: Attrition
- Arena: Attrition Dodgeball
- Arena: Elimination
- Fiesta: Attrition
- Fiesta: CTF
- Fiesta: One Flag CTF
- Fiesta: Strongholds
