According to a report published in PTI, Delhi health minister Satyendar Jain asserted that there was “no need to panic‘ and the current situation is far better when compared to June. The city had witnessed a massive increase in coronavirus cases in the month of June, clocking in around 2000-3000 fresh cases daily, while the situation improved a bit in the month of July (1000-2000 cases). After witnessing a month-long downward trend in July, it was being widely speculated that the national capital had hit the ‘peak’ and will continue to observe fewer coronavirus cases. However, the celebration was short-lived as cases began to rise once again in the last week of August.
