(courtesy: ranveersingh)New Delhi: During the first episode of Koffee With Karan 7, Karan Johar introduced a new segment called the ‘Koffee Bingo,’ as a part of which the guests (Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh) had to strike off the pointers that they agreed with. When Ranveer Singh ticked on “got rejected for a role” column, Karan Johar asked him if he was referring to the box office debacle Bombay Velvet, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, the actor clarified that he was “not rejected” but “unceremoniously dropped.” Ranveer Singh said during the show: “I was not rejected for Bombay Velvet. I was unceremoniously dropped because at the time, I couldn’t justify the budget. My star value wasn’t as high. But, things have changed.”The crime thriller, directed by Anurag Kashyap, featured Karan Johar in a supporting role as well. The film received major flak from the critics as well as the audience. Ranveer also revealed during the show that the film for which he was actually rejected was Mira Nair’s The Reluctant Fundamentalist starring Riz Ahmed.Ranveer Singh was last seen in Yash Raj Films’ Jayeshbhai Jordaar. Before that he featured in Kabir Khan’s ’83. Last year, the actor also had a cameo appearance in Rohit Shetty’s cop drama Sooryavanshi, starring Akshay Kumar in the lead role. The actor also signed another project with Rohit Shetty, which is titled Cirkus. The film is an adaptation of Shakespeare’s The Comedy Of Errors. He will also soon be seen in the Netflix adventure show Ranveer Vs Wild With Bear Grylls.Ranveer Singh’s filmography includes hits as well as critically acclaimed projects like Lootera, Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani and “Padmaavat,” Gully Boy, Simmba, to name a few.
