Kim Kardashian had said the incident left her fearful and anxious. One of the men arrested for robbing Kim Kardashian in 2016 has spoken out, saying in a new interview that she “should be a little less showy”. Yunis Abbas was one of 12 people arrested for nabbing a small fortune in jewels after surprising Ms Kardashian in the luxury residence she rented to attend Fashion Week. The businesswoman was bound at gunpoint as the robbers making off with a combined haul worth about nine million euros ($10.8 million). It was the biggest robbery of an individual in France in two decades.Speaking about it, Abbas told Vice News that the idea to rob Kardashian struck the group after seeing her repeatedly flaunt her jewellery on social media.”Since she was throwing money away, I was there to collect it, and that was that. Guilty? No, I don’t care,” he said.”They should be a little less showy towards people who can’t afford it. For some people, it’s provocative,” Abbas added. The 68-year-old spent nearly two years in prison for the sensational heist in which the robbers posed as cops.Giving details about the robbery, Abbas claimed that Kardashian’s secretary tried to call for help, but dialled 911 despite being in France. When the crime was committed, most of the men were in their 60s or 70s, due to which the French media dubbed them “grandpa robbers”. They entered Ms Kardashian’s apartment at around 2:30 am on October 3, 2016.The star later told police the men, at least one of whom was wearing a jacket with police insignia, tied her up with plastic cables and adhesive tape, and placed her in the bathtub. She has repeatedly spoken about the traumatising incident, saying it left her fearful and anxious. Abbas too acknowledged. “You don’t come out of it unscathed.
