Rahul Gandhi has been given a sharp reminder of the unresolved feud in Rajasthan. (File)Just before his Bharat Jodo Yatra reaches party-ruled Rajasthan, Rahul Gandhi has been given a sharp reminder of the unresolved feud in the state between Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and his rival Sachin Pilot.Days after Sachin Pilot openly asked the Congress to act against MLAs supporting Ashok Gehlot who had rebelled in September, a leader of his Gurjar community served what is widely seen as an ultimatum.”The current Congress government has completed four years and one year is left. Now Sachin Pilot should be made the chief minister. If this happens, then you (Rahul Gandhi) are welcome. We will oppose otherwise,” Vijay Singh Bainsla, a prominent Gurjar community leader, has said, threatening to block the yatra.Speaking to NDTV, Mr Bainsla said he had no option, given that the current Chief Minister was not executing an agreement made in 2019.”The whole community is suffering in the absence of a Gurjar Chief Minister,” he told NDTV.”We are not holding anyone to ransom but how long are we going to wait? Why are we moving towards a clash or a confrontation?”Mr Bainsla said the community’s accord with the Congress government in 2019 and 2020 over several issues had not been executed. “It is not that we are threatening to stop the yatra but it is the Rajasthan government which is compelling us to take this move by not fulfilling our demands,” he said.
