Female Power Rangers

Throughout the last several decades, we’ve dozens of iterations of power rangers, warriors who use their colorful suits and giant megazord robots to combat evil. Rangers primarily use martial arts to battle, and many of the actors who play them are athletes themselves.

Women were initially cast as supporting yellow and pink rangers, but they’ve since expanded to all designs and roles, sometimes even leading a team—which gals most caught our eye? These are the ten prettiest power rangers!

10. Shelby Watkins

Season: Power Rangers Dino Charge
Actress: Camille Hyde

Shelby’s a spirited gal whose family owns an ice cream business, and as part of the Dino Charge team, her corresponding dinosaur is the triceratops. You gotta love Shelby’s description on the ranger wiki, showcasing her spunk: “She’s strong-willed, stubborn, and direct – which makes dating a challenge… for the boy.

Shelby and her team’s red ranger, Tyler Navarro, harbor crushes on each other, which finally blossom into a relationship.

9. Ronny Robinson

Season: Power Rangers Operation Overdrive
Actress: Caitlin Murphy

Ronny’s backstory makes her a perfect addition to the Overdrive team, as she’s a world-class race car driver. While competitive and stubborn, she’s a loyal ally. Like other rangers of her era, she utilizes a unique “genetic power”, super speed in her case, letting Ronny move nearly as fast on foot as in her racers.

8. Rose Ortiz

Season: Power Rangers Operation Overdrive
Actress: Rhoda Montemayor

An expert in “advance robotic nuclear science”, Rose is a genius who can be self-conscious and shy, but whose knowledge and compassion prove invaluable to her team. Like Tommy Oliver before her, Rose gains the genetic power of invisibility, making her adept at stealth and espionage.

7. Kira Ford

Season: Power Rangers Dino Thunder
Actress: Emma Lahana

Kira is the scene girl we all crushed on in middle and high school. Artsy and musically-talented, she’s a singing sensation, which actually ties into her genetic power, the “ptera scream”, a powerful vocal blast. She’s a unique character with both feminine and tomboy traits, and she was designed as midway between the two original female rangers (she’s a yellow ranger like Trini but associated with the pterodactyl like Kimberly).

6. Taylor Earhardt

Season: Power Rangers Wild Force
Actress: Alyson Kiperman

Before Cole’s debut, Taylor leads her team, making her the first yellow ranger captain. Her personality deviates from most other female rangers (who tend to either be girly or tomboyish), as she’s a strict and reserved air force pilot.

In addition to her stunning looks, Taylor is one of the coolest yellow rangers yet, wielding a sword and darts, weapons shared by her nemesis Jindrax.

5. Ashley Hammond

Season: Power Rangers Turbo
Actress: Tracy Lynn Cruz

Seen in both the Turbo and In Space seasons, Ashey cultivates a romance with Andros, the red ranger from In Space. Ashley serves as the team mom, easy-going, caring, and well-liked by her peers. She agrees to teach Andros billiards if he instructs her in telekinesis. Yea, I think you won that trade-off, Ashley.

4. Karone

Season: Power Rangers Lost Galaxy
Actress: Melody Perkins

Throughout In Space, Andros’s younger sister acted as the villainess Astronema, but she’s eventually redeemed in the finale. Throughout the next series, Lost Galaxy, she becomes the new pink ranger after Kendrix Morgan’s tragic fate, bringing her arc full circle.

Karone is one of if not the most developed female rangers, as even once she’s redeemed, she carries guilt over her past misdeeds. She’s also incredibly skilled, able to master her galaxy powers on the spot, and like her elder brother, she has telekinetic abilities.

3. Emma Goodall

Season: Power Rangers Megaforce
Actress: Christina Masterson

Easy-going Emma is kind of an mix of past rangers; she has a firebird zord and pink suit like Kimberly, a submarine zord like Rose Ortiz, and is talented at music like Kira. Still, she has some unique qualities as well, like her environmental activism, BMX bike riding, and photography. Her friendship with teammate Gia is also endearing, and both are certainly good-looking gals…

2. Gia Moran

Season: Power Rangers Megaforce
Actress: Ciara Hanna

Compared to pink ranger Emma, Gia is more strict and a perfectionist, constantly working to better her martial arts. But that’s not to say she isn’t kind or feminine, and she slowly develops a romance with red ranger Jake.

Plus, in mobile game Power Rangers: Legacy Wars, Gia’s also a top-tier unit who dominates in battle thanks to her versatility and efficiency.

1. Kimberly Ann Hart

Season: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
Actress: Amy Jo Johnson

The very first pink ranger, Kimberly (and actress Amy) are both talented gymnasts, making her an agile warrior who wields a bow for ranged attacks. Kim’s kindness , artistic talents, and athleticism make her popular with boys both in-universe and out; Bulk, Tommy, and even Lord Zedd have all shown interest in her, though some fans believe she may have ended up with original red ranger Jason Lee Scott.

More of the Best Female Rangers

As cool as the classic ranger gals are, it’s nice to see them branch out of more than just the “girly” colors of pink and yellow, as we’ve now seen women in red, blue, green, and many more suits, sometimes even leading their respective squads.

Ranger girls provide many kids some of their first crushes thanks to their kindness, strength, and looks, but as we await Saban’s (now a part of Disney) next batch of rangers, vote for your favorite and I’ll see you at our next countdown!
