American actress-singer-entrepreneur Lindsay Lohan is being sued by publisher HarperCollins. The reason: the publisher has alleged that Lindsay signed a book deal with them and got advance payment for it, but she failed to deliver her manuscript.

The publisher has filed a lawsuit against Lindsay in New York Supreme Court on Thursday, September 10, 2020. USA Today reports that according to the lawsuit, Lindsay’s company Crossheart Productions signed a contract with HarperCollins in March 2014, wherein the singer had agreed to write a book for the publishing house by May 1, 2015. But the deadline wasn’t met and it was pushed to March 2017. HarperCollins also alleges in the lawsuit that they had paid $365,000 to Lindsay as an advance for the book deal, but they never got a manuscript from her.

Revealing more details from the lawsuit the report further states that in 2018 HarperCollins informed Lidsay’s representatives that her contract was terminated. So the publisher expected to get their advance payment back but they haven’t received either the money or the manuscript from her.

Meanwhile, no official statements are given out yet by the publisher or Lindsay regarding this matter.
